Davies, Crewe

Here's another Vivid Imaginations figure, that someone requested to be repainted as one of his mates!

It was also my first (and so far only!) Crewe figure:

I liked the 80s style kit, and felt the Adidas stripes looked pretty smart!

If you'd like a figure done as one of your friends, be that a Vivid Imaginations figure, a regular Corinthian, a Soccerstarz or a Tonka figure or any other kind of figure for that matter, please get in touch.

You can do that via Twitter or Facebook

A whole lot of Dawsons, again... away kits

A while back, I posted the pics for a joblot of Michael Dawsons in Spurs home kits.

Here's the equivalent post for the aways!

I think I am now up to date on the blog with all the Dawsons I've done!!

It bothers me a little that these aren't in chronological order... but not enough to do anything about it!

'Jones', Walsall

My first ever Walsall figure!

This was requested as a birthday present for a mate. The funny thing is, it's a Rob Jones figure, and the guy is was for both looks like, and is called Jones!

I didn't even have to change the name on the base!

If you'd like a lookalike figure, for a friend, a relative or even as a treat for yourself, get me on Facebook or Twitter!

Rosicky and Eduardo, Arsenal

With the news about Wenger coming out, I thought it would be fitting to post a couple of Arsenal repaints!

Not his best signings, but players that, I think it would be fair to say, did a decent job before injuries... and more importantly, the only Arsenal players I've done and not posted the pics of yet!

So, here are Rosicky and Eduardo:

Just in case you were wondering about Rosicky's white hands, these were for a customer who, I think, does a bit of painting himself. He asked me to leave them as they were!

Poyet, Leeds Assistant Manager

Here's my second attempt at a Gus Poyet coach figure from his time at Leeds

For the first one, I used miliput to sculpt a training jumper onto a normal Poyet figure, whereas with this one, I swapped the Poyet head onto a Brian Kidd coach figure body.

This is so much better than the first one! I love it!

I've already finished another 'head swap' (which I also love!!) and have others that I'm looking forward to doing too!

Watch this space!

Djorkaeff, Bolton

There were a few things that I couldn't get my head round with Youri Djorkaeff when I was a kid.

The first was: why shirt number 6, obviously... then later in his career it was: why has he joined Bolton Wanderers?!

But he did! And I could do this repaint as a result!

Man City away kits

I haven't posted any Man City pics for a while, and, being as they've just been crowned Premier League Champions, now seems as good a time as any to upload some!

Not sure Richard Jobson would've made it into Pep's starting 11, but SWP might've done... if he can get consistent performances out of Sterling...

I put them up in chronological, and shirt number order!

I was particularrly pleased with the SWP one!

Hitchman personalised Aston Villa repaint

Considering the size of the club, I found it strange when this order was made, and I realised it was my first ever Aston Villa figure.

This figure was requested by someone who wanted a personalised figure as a present for his brother's birthday. He told me the figure that he would like (Ketsbaia, in this case) and specified the kit, the number and the name on the base.

I'm told it went down really well!

If you'd like a similar service, as a gift, or even as a treat for yourself, get in contact via Facebook or Twitter. I can even help you choose which figure to use, if you don't already have one in mind!

Friedel, USA

I think this is my first USMNT figure!

Big Brad:

I was pleased with the neatness I managed on the grey trim! I also painted the 1 on the front, and managed to make it look pretty much like the proper font... so that was nice!

I think the kit was from the 2002 World Cup.

Two Sheffield United number 9s

In a similar vein to the '2 number 4s' post, here's another with 2 Sheffield United players in the same kit, and the same shirt number:

While the kits may be the same, the form shown for the Blades certainly wasn't! Fjortoft managed a respectable 23 goals in 42 games in a spell that spanned 2 seasons, whereas Rush...well, let's just say his career had reached its twilight stage by the time he joined on loan from Newcastle,

He made 4 appearances, and didn't score.

Monday 9 April 2018

Petrescu, Sheff Wed

I haven't had time to do this recently, but a while back, when I had a few less orders on the go, I had time to pull some figures out of my box of spares, and do a repaint that I fancied!!

Here's one of the results!

Dan Petrescu in his Sheffield Wednesday days. I could have done Southampton, Bradford or more... but I've sold to Wednesday fans in the past, and thought I'd have a better chance of offloading this one than, say a Bradford version!

I was happy enough with how it turned out. It almost had a number 2 shirt though! I just assumed that he wore it here as he did at Chelsea. I think I even got as far as making the decal before checking!

Leeds 2000-02 Tonkas

Time for the next season of Leeds Tonkas!

A pair of very popular Leeds kits, and the end of an era of kits lasting for more than one season!

Of course, aside from the kits being a pair of beauts, the performances Leeds put in whilst wearing them is at least part of the reason they are so fondly remembered.

It feels like a different life now, but in these very kits Leeds had some memorable European nights against the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan, Lazio, Anderlecht and Deportivo.

Due to these European performances, Bowyer and Viduka seemed fairly obvious picks to put on these shirts.

I've realised I should probably throw this in here too:

This was added the following season, with the yellow being bumped down to third kit. Another one popular amongst Leeds fans. The first player I think of when I see it is Robbie Keane.

Actually possibly Kewell, for that goal against Arsenal, but, I wasn't going to go and put his name on, was I?!

Saturday 7 April 2018

Given, Newcastle

Shay Given Newcastle repaint, in a kit he wasn't released in.

It's always harder to put a date to the goalie kits, if you don't know them, cos they aren't on historical kits!!

Judging by the sponsors on the above link, though, it's sometime between 1997 and 2000!

Thursday 5 April 2018

Son, South Korea

Being as it's pretty late at night, but I still want to do a log post, I've picked a figure that I don't have much to say about!

Here's my first ever South Korea repaint:

Son Heung Min.

Wednesday 4 April 2018

A whole lot of Dawsons (home)

I think it's fair to say that one of my regulars is quite a fan of Michael Dawson...

And these are just the home repaints!!

I was going to try and put them in chronological order, but then I inserted all of them by mistake!

I may have posted some of these before, but as I'm not sure, and I don't think anyone else will have been paying that amount of attention, I can live with that!!

Mass post of Dawson in away kits to come!

Tuesday 3 April 2018

Two Sheffield United Number 4s!

As promised in a previous post, here are some more Sheffield United figures!

You'll notice these are in the same shirt, but have different shorts and socks. This was requested by the buyer... I assume it was just for a kit clash away from home, and that the buyer wanted a bit of variety in his collection.

Ebbrell was the kind of figure that I like to do... because it shows that someone is as hooked on these figures as me!!

He is fairly rare, so didn't come cheap, nonetheless, he was requested by a Sheffield United fan despite the fact that he only played 45 minutes for them competitively!!
