Lampard, City... again

I actually painted this ages ago, but being as Frank has been in the news lately...

Here's Frank Lampard in his City days, in what turned out to be a reasonably successful loan spell. He played 38 games, and scored 8 goals, including one against Chelsea, of course.

In case you have missed the news, and are wondering why I've chosen to post this today, Lampard has just been announced as Derby County manager. It'll be very interesting to see how he does.

Could be one to make a manager figure of!

Leeds 17/18 Soccerstarz

While last season ended up being pretty forgettable for Leeds, it did at least offer a couple of new soccerstarz repaint opportunities.

This Anita figure was part of the Newcastle range, so naturally I snapped one up as soon as his move to Leeds was confirmed. Overall, he had a disappointing season, having come highly recommended by Newcastle fans.

To be fair to him tho, whether you're considered a utility player or not, surely left back is not the position for a right footed midfielder!

This one is actually a lookalike, but I felt it was such a good one, that I was happy to add it to my collection.

Had a season of two halves really; unplayable at times in the first part of the season, and frustrating in the second. Still our most talented player by a mile.

A decent manager can surely get him firing again. Pity we don't have one right now...

Wright and Platt, Nottingham Forest

Here are repaints of two players aren't particularly well known for their spells at Forest... I didn't even know Wright had played for them until I got these requests!

I feel the need to say: I didn't give Platt golden highlights!! It's just how the sun was shining on him when I took this picture!

I think I'm right in saying he was player manager at Forest, so didn't play many games (5 according to Wiki)

Ian Wright got a respectable 5 goals in 10 appearances in his time at the club (again, according to Wiki)

I put these two in the same blog post just because of being in the same kit.

Sheffield United 'plain'

Recently, someone who was looking at having a go at repainting figures himself asked me to paint some for him, but with no logos, so he could practice applying decals.

Here are the results:

Batigol, Fiorentina

I've previously posted 2 Fiorentina repaints.

Here's the next one.

Gabriel Batistuta, in his Fiorentina days.

I think I'm right in saying this is a remodel, but it was actually sent to me like that.

Collymore, Forest x2

I've recently got myself another bunch of orders from a Nottingham Forest fan, so there's gonna be plenty more Forest figures for your viewing pleasure!

Here are 2 of them, both Stan Collymores:

I've added them to this post in chronological order, of course!

Love the pinstripes on the first one!

The second one was quite interesting. It arrived with me having had the Collymore head swapped onto another body; Steve Stone, I think, although the name and number had been painted over.

All I had to do for that one was add Collymore's name and number 10, and darken the skin a little on the knees and hands to make it the same as his face.

Terry, Chelsea

On the day of a Chelsea FA Cup final win, here's a repaint of 'Mr Chelsea' himself, John Terry... who will be appearing at Wembley for Villa in the coming weeks!

I don't have much else to say about it to be honest!

A pretty straightforward repaint!

In case you were wondering, it is a remodel (head swap) but I didn't do it. I think the guy who ordered it cares more about the body poses of figures than I do, and so sent it to me already swapped!

Newcastle 2007

I've had a lot of orders for Newcastle figures recently. Most of them have been in the iconic 1996 away kit, but here are a few more recent figures:

I was pleased with how they turned out- I especially like the backs for some reason!!

Zola, Chelsea/Coventry!

Every now and then, I look in my box of spare figures, and paint a figure just because I think it will be unique or interesting.

I picked out a Zola, and thought, I'd never seen a repaint of this situation before!

Chelsea travelled to their away game at Highfield Road, and when they got there, it turned out that their kit was considered a clash with Coventry's. And they hadn't bought their away kit with them!

The result? Chelsea wearing Coventry away shirts, with their own shorts and socks!

Zola wore the number 9 shirt that day, but one with no name!

The game finished 3-1 to Coventry. If you want to, you can read about it here

Radebe, Goalkeeper

I love this figure so much, I very nearly started this post with 'OMG'!  With several Ms!!

I carried out a head swap of Lucas Radebe onto a goalkeeper body, in order to recreate this:

Radebe famously played in goal for Leeds against Man Utd, but he also filled in in another game against Middlesbrough.

Here's my version:

I think it's my new favourite figure!!
