Leeds 07/08 Tonkas

Well, the international break is over, and in a week where points deductions have been in the news, here are a couple of Leeds repaints from 07/08!

The start of that season was definitely Kandol's best spell at the club; form is temporary, class is permanent... and he had a really good spell of form! Good enough for me to get a 'Jesus saves, but Tresor slams home  the loose ball' T-shirt, anyway!!

Andy Hughes joined that year, and became something of a cult hero, hence being picked for this repaint.

Laudrup, Denmark

It's still an International Break, so I thought I'd post another international repaint.

Unless I'm mistaken (and about 1500 repaints down the line, it's entirely possible that I am!) I think this is my first Denmark international kit.

Brian Laudrup:

I put this one up on my Facebook page the other day, and when I did, my first thought was about how neat the trim around the collar is!!

I would say that it is the white trim that really elevates this kit from a simple one to a very good one!

... I haven't added a tournament to the labels, as I'm not sure which tournament this kit is from!

Redondo, Argentina

International Break; International repaints!

And being as we had a look at Fernando Redondo in Real Madrid kit the other day, how about in a couple of Argentina kits?

In case you were wondering, these kits are from 2 different World Cups, hence why one has a name and the other just a number.

The away kit was pretty tough to paint! I did this kit on Caniggia as well, and I tried a different approach on each. On one I painted each of the little black diamond shapes individually, and on the other, I painted 3 black stripes, then used blue to 'block' bits out, to create the shapes.
...
The pointless part of the story is: I can't remember which method I used on which!

Keep an eye on here for more international kit repaints... I've got to do something to keep entertained until Leeds play again, haven't I?!

Beardsley, Fulham

Is Peter Beardsley the figure that you can do the most repaints for?!

Here's the Fulham iteration!

So, by my reckoning (Ok, wikipeida's) there are still Everton, Carlisle, Man Utd (who knew?!) and Melbourne Knights!!

That makes 9 possible repaint teams! (He was released in Newcastle, and England kit, of course)

Can you think of any figures with more repaint possibilities?!

Iheanacho, Man City

Quick blog post before I watch the Leeds game!

Also, another chance to test out the 'blog photo team always loses' theory...

I had to use a lookalike figure to make Iheanacho, and then he went and left Man City not long after I finished it! That fact gives a bit of a clue about how long ago I did this, I suppose!

Decent little repaint; I had to mix the colour for the sleeves!

And that's about it! Time to start feeling nauseous about Leeds!

Redondo, Real

I always like to receive confirmation that figures have arrived before I put the pictures here (or on my Facbeook page) just in case there are any problems, anything that needs to be sorted out etc.

Today, I found out that a parcel I sent has finally arrived in Argentina, so now, I can post the pictures of some absolute beauties!!

Let's start with Redondo!

Two Real Madrid repaints. I was delighted with these- absolutely love the number font, and the full kit definitely takes me back to my childhood; unless I am mistaken, it's the black kit in which Redondo danced around the Man United defence at Old Trafford in the Champions League!

Solid start from the box that went to Argentina... plenty more rare repaints to come! Including clubs and figures that I had never painted before!

Excited to share them with you!

Cole, Forest

17 minutes until Leeds kick off... enough time to rustle up a quick blog post, surely!

I thought I'd make it the second Andy Cole in a row, and, being as it's a Forest one, I can see where I'm up to with blog posts being a jinx for the featured club...

Quite a simple but effective little repaint; the socks being the most complex part!! Especially as it's one of the poses where they actually join together.

Anyway, that's all I've got to say for now, let's sit back and see how this affects this afternoon's action.
DISCLAIMER: I know that it has no effect; it's just that time of the season.

Andy Cole, Arsenal

Quick blog post before I go to bed!

This is another of those figures that I grabbed out of my box of spares, and just knocked out a quick repaint that took my fancy.

Again, it's a figure I've never seen done before... you know how I like to be original!!

It's probably never been done by anyone else because Cole played like twice for Arsenal!

I went with number 15 as that's the number he wore coming on as sub in the Charity Shield against Spurs.

Quite simple and straightforward, but I was pleased with it.

Aaaaaaand it sold on eBay!

A couple of West Ham figures

Cracking result for West Ham today, so here's a reward to rival the 3 points they've received for it; being featured on my blog!!

Here are a couple of players I took out of my box of spares, and painted for my own amusement (plus ebay)

Neither of these players are particularly known for their spells at West Ham- Jones only played for them twice, I think- but they're the kind of repaints that appeal to me!

I enjoy doing ones that I've never seen before... even more so if they get taken off my hands on ebay, which these both did!
