Di Canio, Sheffield Wednesday

I like this one! Di Canio in Sheffield Wednesday kit, trademark white boots and all!

I was surprised Corinthian didn't make one of these themselves, but had it pointed out to me that it was something to do with the timing of their relegation that would've prevented it. Or the time of his transfer, I forget.

I painted this for a Wednesday fan who found my Cantona figure on ebay, and asked if I was willing to do anymore. I was!

I ended up painting this exact figure again, for someone else who saw it on Facebook, and liked it!

I have one more Wednesday figure up my sleeve from the same order to post in the near future!
If you're a Wednesday fan, and you'd like to see more, you know what to do!

Leighton, Aberdeen

Jim Leighton in a 90s kit template that was worn by a few clubs.

This kit was released on some other keepers (Mark Crossley among them, if I remember rightly) but not Leighton, which is why the guy who bought this, and collects SPL figures was keen to get it done!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture of Leighton wearing it!

Sheedy, Everton

Here's another repaint for my Everton regular!

A lookalike figure had to be used to make Sheedy, and this job included darkening the hair.

This is my second time painting this kit... and not my last! Click here if you want to see the first attempt!

This repaint was also the first time someone asked for the name to be put on the base in white. I quite like it, but I'm not sure if I'd do it for my own collection... mainly because it would mean adjusting so many others!

Here's the real Sheedy:

"Franks", Leeds 1992

A guy got in contact with me over twitter to paint this 'Credit to the Game' figure, that he won in a competition.

Some bank, I forget which, actually made lookalike figures of the competition winners! The problem was, they were in a horrible, general blue and red kit, and had "Credit to the Game" printed in massive letters on the base.

This was actually easier to paint than a corinthian figure... because it was huge!!

And just as an interesting aside, the guy who had found me on twitter (amongst the millions of other users) has the seat behind me at Elland Road on his season ticket! How weird is that!

If you have a Credit to the Game figure that you want taking out of it's horrible red and blue kit, and painted into one of your choice, contact me by leaving a comment here, on Facebook, or on twitter...or if you sit behind me at Elland Road, you can ask me there too!!

Salvation Army Officer!

Bit of an unusual one this, to say the least!

In case you want a back story (and even if you don't) I attend the Salvation Army regularly, as my church.

One week, as part of the service, we were encouraged to bring along something we had 'created'. It fitted in with the theme, you see.

I couldn't think what to do at first, until I thought about how I create things fairly regularly (see rest of blog!)

When I found a manager figure in my spare box, it was decision made!

Particular personal highlights are the small 'S' on each shoulder and lapel, and the Salvation Army flag base!

Here's the image I used to help me with the details!

Milestone!

Just a quick post to show that my page has rampaged past the 250 likes mark on Facebook... by 2!

Here's a bit of pictorial evidence!

To all my Facebook 'likers', blog readers and twitter followers; ta very much!

Ferguson, Blackpool

The second figure in a Blackpool order I had a while back.

Barry Ferguson, with a figure that was a little too youthful for the way he looked at Blackpool!

Fortunately, he had a pretty sizable beard to mask his boyishness!

Here's a photo of him acting as a ball boy:

Karelis, Panathinaikos

Karelis, Panathinaikos.

Hm... I seem to have just written the title again.

I enjoyed painting this- nice to have a kit that was a bit different... different from everything but this, of course!

Here's a pic to compare to:

Manolas, Olympiakos

I know almost nothing about this player! I can't even tell you his first name without googling it!

I think he played for Greece at this year's World Cup, and he may or may not still play for Olympiakos!

What I do know, is that I can pretty much do this kit without a picture now!

...his first name is Kostas.

Wetherall, Leeds away

I found this Wetherall pic in the 'Repaints' folder on my desktop, having almost forgotten about it!

I painted it ages ago! Tbh, I reckon I could do a far better job on it now, although it's not bad! I think I was just finding my feet as a repainter when I did it, and wanting to try something new.

Funnily enough, when a few Leeds fans were looking at my Leeds album on facebook, someone said this was their favourite. Maybe I'm just more critical of my own work!

I loved this kit, and had a spare Wetherall from my original collection.
