Everton, 91-93

Seeing as it's been a while since I posted any Everton photos, how about 3 in their 1991-93 kit:

Kenny Sansom custom everton corinthian figure

Martin Keown repainted corinthian figure Everton

peter beardsley custom everton corinthian figure

Relatively simple, but with a couple of bits I really like... unfortunately only one shows properly on the pic; that being the tiny stripes on the front part of the collar.

The other details I really liked about these are the sort of half umbro pattern on the players right sleeve and left side of the shorts.

Pity I didn't photograph it, eh?!

At least you've got a clear look at that lovely umbro shirt number font!

Haaland, Leeds home and away

After a a first top flight win in... quite a while, I thought I'd make today's post a Leeds United one.

Alfie Haaland Leeds united corinthian figure

The guy this was for told me that it took him ages to track down an Alfie! As such, he took his time choosing the kit, and decided on this beaut in the end.

My favourite parts are definitely the detailing around the collar, cuffs and bottom of the shorts

Alf inge haaland custom leeds united away kit corinthian figure

I did this one a much longer time ago. Another kit that I loved in my childhood, but I think I lost it during one of my many house moves in uni days. I mean, it was pretty much ruined anyway, cos it had Kewell on the back...

This figure may also be the one that I painted for someone, who needed to raise a bit of cash further down the line, so sold it on ebay... to a Man City fan that wanted a repaint. I'm sure you can guess the rest...

Matty Holmes, Dorchester!

Matty Holmes, Dorchester!

Matty Holmes Dorchester corinthian repaint

I love a non-League repaint, especially when it's a 'real' player, rather than a lookalike.

Holmes played 170 games for Dorchester, when he joined them following injury problems at Charlton.

Sheffield Wednesday away kits

A good start to the season for Wednesday yesterday!

Here are a couple of away kit repaints

mark bright corinthian away kit repaint

One of the problems with going through my old photos for the blog posts is that I often can't remember anything relevant to write on the blog posts!

What I always think when I do a figure in this pose is: I don't like this pose! not cos it's tricky like some of them are, just that it seems a bit weird and unnatural a pose! I like how the kit turned out tho! And as I recall, Mark Bright himself commented on it on Twitter, tho I don't have the screengrab of it to hand. It'll be in the tweeets album on my Facebook page!

Regi Blinker custom sheffield wednesday corinthian away kit repaint

I always loved this sculpt! But while we're on the subject of things being awkward to paint, the hair is all over the back and shoulders, so you have to be careful with the join!

I do like the effect of putting half a number, as if the top is covered by the hair!

Sullivan, Spurs x2

I have this ridiculous idea in my head that, somehow what I post here has a bearing on real life football results (see my pattern of posting Leeds and Sheffield United figures in April/May time of last season...)

As a result I thought I'd steer well clear of teams I have a vested interest in today, and just go for a couple of Spurs goalie pics!

Te orange kit was painted more recently, but I think I prefer the black one. It may have been one of my first little dabbles with blending colours on the shirt while the paint was still wet (tat bit high up on the chest around the badge)

I've done it a few more times since, most recently with the Leeds Domi figure that fades orangey-yellow to light yellow and back again!

Reyna, City

Well friends, I'm tired on a Friday evening, and I've got a zoom call in 5 minutes...

This Claudio Reyna figure seems as good as any to post and not write much about.

Hope you like it!

Two 1990s Bolton Boys!

2 Bolton figures today:

keith branagan corinthian repaint

Weren't 1990s keeper kits glorious?!
...
I have little more to say about this figure!

Eidur Gudjohnsen bolton corinthian repaint

And Gudjohnsen. I think I've posted pics of doing the same kit a while back... tho I haven't checked.

It's called 'Bolton Gudjohnsen 2' in my repaints folder anyway! In reality, it makes very little difference to the process, but there's something I like about the name being on a different coloured part of the shirt!

If you did search back through the posts to find the last Gudjohnsen, I'd be interested to know if I put exactly the same on the blog post!

Shearer, Southampton

Here's something I don't do very often: today, I'm posting pictures of the blog before I have sent them to their recipient *shocked face*

I agreed to doing these figures before I had checked what the away kits were like! They were good fun though! I think I actually like the yellow one best!

Riquelme, Villareal

Just one picture for your Monday blog post!

Juan Roman Riquleme villareal corinthian repaint

This Riquelme figure is the only Villareal figure I've done!

It came along with a batch of Parma players that I did a while back, sent by a guy who always seems to do his orders by colour as a theme!

If you read this blog religiously (out of curiosity, does anyone check in and read on a regular basis?! Tell me in the comments if you do!) you might recall me talking about a guy who does his own 'head swaps' on figures, and paints bases before sending them to me.

I'm guessing this was because Riquelme preferred long sleeves, but I don't know for sure!

As for the yellow base? I prefer it to some of the other colours he's done!

Leeds forgotten Left Backs, Home and Away!

Left back- something of a problem area for Leeds since Dorigo, in truth.

Doesn't stop left backs from being some nice repaints though!

These pairs of figures have something in common- I did the home kits ages ago, and the yellow ones more recently, and as such, there are more things I'd change about the home ones if I did them again now!

david robertson leeds united custom corinthian figure

david robertson leeds united custom corinthian figure away kit

The collars on these figures show a dilemma (maybe a bit to strong a word!) that I often face when repainting.

On the home kit, I've made it like the paint job on the original figures, whereas on the away, I've done it like it actually was on the shirt!

IMO, the more recent one looks far better!

didier domi custom corinthian figure leeds united

didier domi custom corinthian figure leeds united away kit

Bit of a quandary here; they've got different sponsors on! I thought Domi only played one season for us?!

The first one must have been requested like that though! At the very least, whoever I sent it to saw a picture first and didn't say it was wrong! Maybe he wore it preseason?! On the off chance that you're reading this and it's yours, feel free to send it back and I'll change the sponsor!!

Anyway, onto happier things to comment on: I was very proud of the away version. I still have this shirt, and the front fades from darker yellow at the top and bottom into a lighter yellow in the middle. Zoom in now and have a look!!

More difficult and time consuming, and well worth the effort!

And as always, I can't help but notice; not only am I a better painter now, but I'm also better at taking the photos!!

Rangers Variety Pack!

Here are Rangers figures of 3 different varieties!!

Ally Mccoist custom tonka figure rangers

A kit I can remember from my early days of watching the Leeds United 92-93 season review video, and the coverage of our fixture against Rangers in the European Cup, which went very well...

Anyway, I was delighted with how this figure turned out. I love the clean lines of the adidas branding, tho I did have to say to the buyer "You'll have to keep the arms as they are, or the adidas stripes won't line up!"

You might also have noticed the mitre branding on the ball!

Jorg ALbertz custom rangers subbuteo XL

Slightly more straightforward this, tho I not only were adidas boots requested, but, adidas predators!

I was also asked to do "Blondish/ginger hair", which was nice, because whenever I try to mix blonde, it seems to have a bit of ginger to it anyway!

Morelos custom rangers figure

And finally, lots of extra requests were made for this one too!

Luminous boots, gloves (which I went ahead and stuck the hummel branding on) sleeve patches and, last, but certainly not least, Morelos' style hair, which I remodeled! Overall, I was probably most pleased with this one, of the above 3!

Nottingham Forest batch 3!

It's Friday night, after my first week of full time hours at work since March... so how about I just stick a few pictures up?!

Teddy Sheringham custom corinthian nottingham forest

I'm a bit hazy on the details of the timeline of  this kit, and it's 2 number 10s. I think they wore this kit for 2 seasons, with different sponsors on... and I think that Sheringham was only there for one of them?!

I mean, I'm not bothered enough to research that... I just painted what I was asked to do!!
