Wright, Leeds

Here's one of those repaints that may have taken longer than the player's Leeds career!

Ok, that probably isn't true, but Alan Wright did only play one game for Leeds! This, along with the fact that this is a pretty damn rare figure made this a fairly rash purchase at the time.

Now of course, I'm one of those crazy collectors, so I don't have to justify it!

Fortunately for me, I can also fund my own collection with the money I make from repaints now!

Anyway, here's Wright in his only Leeds appearance... which we lost 4-0!

Yeah... the figure has a little more hair than Wright did in his brief loan spell at Elland Road.

Costa Rica, 2014, No.2, 3 and 4!

For those of you that have been waiting with baited breath for the next installment of the 2014 Costa Rica squad repaints: Here they are!

Johnny Acosta:

Giancarlo Gonzalez:

Michael Umana:

The repaints have gone down well with the Costa Rica players on the whole! From these 3, I only have one response so far though; a retweet and favourite from Gonzalez.

More Costa Rica repaint pics soon!

Mountfield, Everton

Another Everton repaint, for a customer who is putting together an entire 1985-86 one to eleven.

A lookalike figure was used to create Derek Mountfield... it's not that hard to guess who the original figure was!!

The little tweet exchange that followed was good fun! Here's his first comment:

Rollo, Bath City away

You may remember a while back that I posted a picture of Bath City legend Jim Rollo, in the Roman's promotion winning kit.

Well, the same guy (who has to be Jim Rollo's biggest fan!!) also ordered one in an away kit.

I got a tweet back from Rollo about the home kit repaint, and he also decided to RT and Fave this one.

Here's the clearest image of Rollo in this kit that I could find!

I feel I should also say, in the words of the guy who bought these 2 figures: "They have gone down in Bath folklore; he loves them!"

Crouch, Spurs

Another Spurs repaint, from one of last year's big Spurs orders. (Sometimes I don't get round to posting the pics for a while!)

Crouch has had a fair few clubs, but this is my only repaint of him thus far!

This was the Spurs kit for 2009/10; a kit I painted a couple more times... but off the top of my head I can't remember whether I've posted them on my blog already!

You can see them on my Facebook page; I know that!

Siovas, Olympiakos

Here's another Olympiakos repaint, of another player with a splendid beard!

Siovas... I don't know his first name. (It's quite a while since I did this one, to be fair)

Here he is in real life.

... his name is Dimitris!

Ferguson, Everton FA Cup final special!

Here's another remodel, and minor repaint!

After winning the FA Cup with Everton in 1995, Duncan Ferguson famously donned a blue nose on the post match lap of honour!

With a bit of putty left over after my Pressman remodel, and a spare Ferguson figure in my stock box, this was an obvious (and easy!) remodel; and an idea that had been suggested to me before.

This one was sold to a regular; another was requested via my facebook page, and there may be a third on ebay before too long!

The only thing that I needed to change about the kit was the sponsor. I also added a badge to the shorts... just cos!

Kevin Pressman, Leeds

Here's one that stands along with my Leeds repaints of Sami Hyypia and Jari Litmanen...

Kevin Pressman is hardly massive in Leeds history (aside from his considerable bulk when we signed him!)

The reason I include him in the same breath as Hyypia and Litmanen figures that I've done is that, like them, he never actually played for the first team. However, such is my commitment to my Leeds figure collection, I just had to do this one too!

This is also one of my first attempts at remodelling. Being as he never actually took to the field for us (other than in the warm-ups when he was an unused sub) I wanted to put him in a tracksuit.

I also thought, while I was remodelling, I might as well add a little timber to the stomach region...

I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I even got a tweet back from Pressman:

I may have only sent a picture of the front view of the figure to him...

And just in case anyone is doubting that he was on Leeds' books, here's a photo, albeit with a slightly different tracksuit:

I'm planning on attempting some more remodels in the future; watch this space!

Costa Rica Coaching staff, 2014 World Cup

As I mentioned in a previous post, my most recent Costa Rica order was such a thorough reproduction of their World Cup Squad that coaching staff were included!

Here we have manager Pinto, and coaches Wanchope and Marin.

Pinto required a different hair colour and change of tie to the original figure!

Training kits and black boots were chosen for the coaches!

Weah, City

Recent developments include a guy that might be becoming a regular customer. He's a City fan, so there'll be plenty of City repaints appearing here, and on my facebook page, in the coming weeks.

This one is of former World Player of the Year, George Weah.

Weah played for City in 2000, scoring 4 goals in 11 games for them.

I've never been too keen on white names and numbers on light blue shirts; I don't think it shows up that well, but it's what City had at the time, anyway...

Sheringham, Colchester

This is one of those repaints that I just fancied doing for a bit of quirkiness factor.

I also had an inkling that, to the right buyer it might sell on ebay!

In the end, it did!

In case you didn't know, Sheringham ended his career it Colchester, by bagging 4 goals in the 07-08 season, and retiring at the ripe old age of 42!

Snodgrass, Leeds (Soccerstarz)

Here's one of the figures that made me decide to start doing Soccerstarz for my own collection; Robert Snodgrass.

Snodgrass was a favourite player of mine during his time at Leeds; that great combination of skill and work rate. It didn't surprise me at all to see him doing well in the Premiership.

I had a few choices as to which kit to paint him into, but decided to go with the 2011-12 season kit, with a couple of key additions.

On one arm you'll see a captains armband, while on the other is a black band, featuring the number 11.

One of  Snodgrass's finest moments at Leeds was carrying the side to a 2-0 victory over Millwall in the First game at Elland Road after Gary Speed's death. He was a class above that day, and helped himself to both goals on an emotional afternoon.

Adebayor, Spurs

The ever popular Emmanuel Adebayor.

Don't really have much else to say about this one... other than I think he didn't have this haircut when he played for Spurs!

Sheedy response

So, a while back, I posted the pic for a Kevin Sheedy lookalike repaint.

I suppose it's to do with the fact that he was playing in the '80s, but it never occurred to me to check for him on twitter until recently, but when I did, he soon responded to a pic of the figure.

Here's what he had to say:

Speroni, Palace

I've not done many Crystal Palace figures thus far... if I remember rightly, the only one I'd done before this was Tom Ince, and fortunately I managed to offload it on ebay before his unsuccessful loan expired!

No such problem with this one, which was a private order.

I had to use a lookalike figure for Speroni, but feel that it's a pretty good one!

The side view that I added to the image above was purely to show off the beard!

Speroni did this double thumbs up after seeing the repaint*

*this is a lie.
