4 Serie A repaints

I thought I'd mix it up slightly today, with 2 Inter and 2 Juve repaints, though if I'm honest, I probably wouldn't have thought of that if they weren't next to each other in my repaints album...

I remember a friend of mine saying this would make a great England kit... not sure, myself! This was part of an order of several Colombian players that I did a while back. All in club kits though, interestingly.

I remember never really getting this kit when it was out at the time. I think it might have been Inter's kit for European games only, before that was a common thing. Tho I've not bothered to research that, so it might be wrong!

Bit of a pain to paint, this one; as you may know, I've commented before that hoops are disproportionately harder than stripes. The yellow numbers onto a darker colour also add an element of pain in the arsery.

Without realising, another part of the order of lots of Colombian players! Maybe Colombian players were less common figures, or maybe its more of a cultural thing to celebrate their players doing well abroad, cos personally, I'd never go for a bunch of England players in their various club kits... unless it was Leeds of course!

Finally, Ravanelli. What a beauty of a kit!!

Juve Soccerstarz

Feels like every post at the moment starts with: This is just going to be a quick one before I go to bed (tho I can't be bothered verifying that...)

Anyway, looking through my repaints picture folder on my laptop, these seemed a good choice for today:

I don't know if you've seen, but Ronaldo scored a reasonably impressive goal last night. I don't have the exact stats to hand, but he basically jumped about 40 feet into the air to score a header. Not bad, eh?

So that's why I chose the Juve repaints for today. Nice kit to paint, tbf. I enjoyed these. Halved shirts are preferable to stripes! And, in a view that contradicts my opinion in real life, I love a halved shirt that is one colour on the back, for painting purposes!

Last Juve repaints for a while!

With overseas teams, I find it harder to know the chronology of the kits, unless it's really obvious!

With that in mind, here are the last of the Juve photos I've been stockpiling... in shirt number order!

I do like the traditional colours on repaints. The yellow numbers are pretty tricky to do, due to technicalities I can't really be bothered going into right now; suffice to say, I ended up painting in the middle black stripe, if I remember rightly!

That's it for Juve figures at this point, tho I do have Moncao, Atletico, Barcelona, Real and loads of South American club team repaint photos ready to add to the blog in due course!

Ronaldo, Juve

I hear Juventus made quite a big signing this summer...

I had a request for Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Favourite Figure in his new Juventus kit a few weeks ago.

When I started on it, it seemed much whiter than normal for a Juventus kit!

I think it turned out well... and as much as I complain about shirts that are striped on the front and plain on the back in real life, it does make them easier to paint!!

And a footnote... this is yet another kit with six sets of tiny Adidas stripes to do (2 each on sleeves, shorts and socks) For some reason there have been loads recently!!

Juventus: The Sony sponsored shirts!!

Enough of a link to put these 3 on the same blog post?! Of course it is!!

Identifying the years of shirts can sometimes be a problem when I am trying to google them! Especially shirts from other nations... ok, ones that aren't on historical kits!!

I often have to resort to using the sponsor in the search!!

Here are 3 Juve kits, from their Sony sponsorship days!

I normally like to post in either chronological, or shirt number order... but the age order of these is a guess... based on the fact that mini-disc surely came after just Sony!!

I was very happy with these, as was the recipient.

As a point of, at best, minor interest, I painted the stars, rather than using decals- it was one of those rare times where the 'badge' was easier to do this way!

Also, for anyone wondering about the pose of the Zidane figure, it's another of those that is remodelled, but was sent to me that way.

Tacchinardi, Juventus

This is the second time I've done this figure; using a lookalike to make Tacchinardi in the 1997 Juventus European Cup final kit... if I remember rightly!

I don't have much to say about it to be honest, other than I think it looks pretty slick!!

Here's the kit:

In case you haven't picked this up from previous posts, pics like this come from historical kits. It has been invaluable to me on my repainting journey!

Lombardo, Juve

Attilio Lombardo; the bald eagle! Perhaps best known in the UK for his ill-fated spell as player manager at Crystal Palace!

I didn't even know he played for Juventus!

I enjoyed doing this repaint!

While it's of a big player for a big club, it still felt a bit different to me; maybe because I don't do all that many Serie A repaints.

Here's a pic of the real kit to compare it to:

Tacchinardi, Juventus

A returning customer from Italy means that I have done a reasonable number of Juventus repaints now.

This one, of Alessio Tacchinardi, had to make use of a lookalike figure.

I was pleased with it overall... but don't have much more to say about it!

Tacchinardi played 260 times in his 13 year spell at Juve, and also accrued 13 caps for Italy.

Evra, Juventus

Here's a recent order that got excellent feedback on the Corinthian Facebook group!

While I was definitely pleased with it, it got loads of likes, and comments from a few saying it's the best one I've done!

It was nice to do a more modern repaint... but I suppose they'll get rarer and rarer as the players that exist in Prostar form continue to retire!

I'll be able to do soccerstarz, of course, but Prostars are my favourite!

Here's a pic of Evra in the above kit- the one from his first season at Juve.

Peruzzi, Juve

It's funny; writing the title for this post confused me! I couldn't think who this keeper actually is! After all of my Costa Rica figure exploits, he will always be Keylor Navas to me!

He's Angelo Peruzzi, of course, and the kit chosen was Juve's keeper kit for the... I wanna say 1996(?) Champions League final.

I particularly liked doing the stars on the sleeves; stars which also feature on the Blue kit the outfield players wore in that same final.

Here is the best image I could find of the keeper shirt:

Conte, Juve

Here's a lookalike figure, used to make Antonio Conte in Juventus' 1996 Champions League final kit.
...
I had to get this posted off quickly for Christmas, and so forgot to photograph the back like I normally do!

I like this one! The stars on the shoulders were a personal highlight!

I also did a repaint of Peruzzi, in the GK kit from this final. Keep an eye out for it here (or, if you just can't wait, check out the Serie A album on my Facebook page)

Here's the team pic from the final;

Chiellini, Juventus

The first order that I've posted to Italy!

Luis Suarez's favourite appetiser during the World Cup, in the kit of his club side Juventus.

I had to use a lookalike figure, as there was a Microstar version of Chiellini, but not a Prostar.

Here's the kit:
