QPR x3

The last 3 QPR figures in my repaints album... though I get the feeling the guy who ordered them may be back some time!!

I never knew Paul Parker played for QPR before doing this. I think I said the same about a Parker figure for another club... Sheffield United, maybe?!

These sleeves are definitely preferable to hooped sleeves!

Andy Sinton, here, in the "The shorts badge is gonna be a squeeze" pose!

And here's Trevor Sinclair, in a more recent kit than you might expect. I think this was chosen due to the hair (or lack of it!) on the figure. Sinclair had... I'm gonna say dreadlocks(?) when he played for QPR, so this kit, which he wore more recently in a charity game was picked.

That suited me, tbh, as I'm struggling to keep up with orders as it is, and a remodel wouldn't have helped with that!!

2 Peacocks! QPR

These 2 were part of a big batch of QPR figures, and, I'll level with you; I didn't even realise that they were both Peacocks until I saved them to my laptop, and had to name them!

I think it might be because neither of them had names on their shirts.

The kind of things that interest me when comparing these 2 kits are some fairly major differences (well major to a bit of a kit nerd like me!)

The main one is that the shade of blue was completely different (I checked with the buyer that he wa happy with the top one- I just didn't remember it being so much lighter!)

Also, the change of the number colour from black to red. I think QPR traditionally used red. I think they also usually tend towards hooped sleeves, but there is a slight possibility that I'm just making that bit up!

Plenty more QPR pics to come. To be honest, they could have featured on this post, but I just wanted to call this post 2 peacocks!

QPR Goalies

As it turns out, I'm still sulking a bit about Leeds' result on Friday night.

It's like: I get that things could be much worse, but it's the first time this season I've felt a bit concerned...

I've felt concerned for Leeds under Bielsa before of course, most recently that concern was ended by a 5 match winning run without conceding a goal, so... well, a repeat of that would be nice, anyway!

Erm... here are some QPR goalies.

QPR Strikers

Here are a few from a big-ish QPR order I had in the summer.

Literally no idea that Mark Stein played for QPR til I made this.

The second time I've done Sir Les in QPR kit. This is infinitely better than the first one, which was one of my first attempts at hoops!

For some reason, I always like ones where the numbering and lettering are different colours- just something different, and an extra little challenge, I guess!

This is also the only one of this mini set on today's post that has hoops on the arms too!

I have very little to say about Chris Kiwomya... erm... he scored against Leeds once when he pleyed for Ipswich?!

On this figure, the hoops were much thinner, but I was pleased with how they look- still neat and straight, even though they were a bit harder!

And last but not least, QPR legend: Eric Cantona?!?

The guy who made the order just asked: I know he never played for us, but would you be ok to do Cantona in QPR kit?!

So I did!!

QPR, XL Subbuteo Figures

Pretty much summed up by the title, this post!

Here are a couple of QPR Subbuteo XLs that I finished recently.

I mean, I'm still on furlough, so does recently mean a day ago, last week, 3 months ago; no-one knows!

qpr away kit custom xl subbuteo figure

I'm gonna come clean and say: I have quite a dislike for painiting hoops; probably just because I've had less practice at it than stripes. Nontheless, I'd say these came out pretty well.

Seaman, QPR

While I have some 'regulars', and therefore clubs that I end up painting an awful lot of, QPR is not one of those clubs!

I painted a Ferdinand way back when, due to just having a spare one and wanting to try my hand at hoops... possibly for the first time.

I painted a Francis, on account of having a spare Francis head after doing dome remodels!!

And lastly, for the time being at least, I did this:

David Seaman, in his QPR days. I did this one, again, partly down to having a spare, but also down to the thinking that, as a high profile player for a club that didn't get that many figures, he may catch someone's eye, and be a good addition to a collection somewhere.

The fact that it wasn't too complicated a kit played a part too!!

This ended up selling on ebay, if I remember rightly. If it didn't... I have no idea where it is now!!

Francis, QPR

I've done a few remodels recently!

What I've found is that, however many remodels I plan on doing, I usually end up with twice as many! (This being a result of the fact that most managers/coaches were players once, and I don't like to waste things!)

After explaining all that, though, this one wasn't just the result of using the manager's body and being left with a spare head... as strange as that sounds.

Anyway, a friend of mine said to me- "How come you've never made any of the great QPR players of the 70s?"

So I did!

Gerry Francis- using the head from a manager figure... and the body from Dennis Wise, if anyone cares!!

I had to darken the hair, of course, but I didn't mind that, especially as the kit didn't need much detail. My favourite part is definitely the sideburns!!

Ferdinand, QPR

Les Ferdinand, as he was at QPR in the Premier League's first season.

It's one of those 'little known facts' (that has been used so often that it's become well known) that QPR were the highest placed London team in 1992-93.

This fact, along with Sir Les' popularity at Rangers, is what made me do this repaint.

It has already been snapped up on ebay!
