Various Nottingham Forest Figures

I'm on quite the roll! And if it ain't broke...

Here are 5 Forest figures. All B and C surnames!

I'm a big fan of this Bart-Williams away kit repaint! Nice and crisp, and clean!

Benali at Forest. Who knew?

A pair in the pinstripe Labatts kit. As you may have gathered from the printed base, Kingsley Black is a lookalike figure!

And another lookalike here, to make Nigel Clough. Funnily enough, you'll see another Nigel Clough, using a different lookalike next time I do a Nottingham Forest post... assuming I stick to alphabetical order!

Stuart Pearce x3

Time for a trio of Stuart Pearce repaints, including the iconic mid 90s yellow away kit:

I haven't got much else to say about them, to be honest!

Although... I do have an idea for another interesting Pearce repaint. Knowing my record of blogging my figures currently, you'll probably see it here in 3 to 4 years time. You're better off following my Instagram or Facebook, tbh!! (Links in header)

Forest 90s away kits

An offering of blue Nottingham Forest away kits!

Loved this away kit! Forest were very exciting in the way they took no prisoners as a newly promoted side in this season! Not sure why that resonates with me this season...

To be honest, I don't really remember this kit. as I did it tho, I noticed it, at least partially follows the template of the England 1998 world cup kit.

As I was painting these, I also thought: it must be the first time I've ever had 2 Steve Stones on the go at the same time! (The other was a Portsmouth one)

2 Youthful Forest Players!

Looking through my repaints album, I thought: I haven't posted any Forest pictures for a while, and these were the last 2 left.

I thought to myself  that John Terry must've had a rough paper round if he looked like that when he joined Forest as a young player, and then realised it was pretty much the same case for Sheringham!!

The thin white lines round the shoulders and cuffs are definitely the best bit about the terry figure!

Haaland, Forest

Hi friends, and a belated happy new year! Sorry it's been a while- I didn't take my laptop with me when I went away for a few days for Christmas.

And after my busiest ever year repainting figures, I felt it was time for a couple of weeks off!

I'm back, refreshed now tho, and thought I'd start the new year with a bang!

For those not in the know- Haaland is a difficult figure to get hold of! I've done him in City and Leeds kits before, but always felt there was a good chance I'd do him in Forest colours!

This was the final part of a full set in this kit!

Nottingham Forest batch 3!

It's Friday night, after my first week of full time hours at work since March... so how about I just stick a few pictures up?!

Scot gemmill nottingham forest corinthian figure repaint

Lars Bohinen nottingham forest custom figures

nottingham forest stan collymore custom 1993-94 football figure

Teddy Sheringham custom corinthian nottingham forest

Ian Woan nottingham nottingham forest corinthian repaint

I'm a bit hazy on the details of the timeline of  this kit, and it's 2 number 10s. I think they wore this kit for 2 seasons, with different sponsors on... and I think that Sheringham was only there for one of them?!

I mean, I'm not bothered enough to research that... I just painted what I was asked to do!!

Forest Batch, part 2

I'm gonna be honest... I feel I should make a blog post, as I haven't in a few days... but I'd also quite like to go to bed.

So with that in mind, I thought I'd post the next in a batch of Forest figures I did.

And if you want to know my thoughts about this kit... just read what I put in part one!

Here they are:

Steve Chettle nottingham forest custom corinthian figure

nottingham forest roy keane corinthian repaint

Steve stone repainted corinthian headliner

phillips custom corinthian nottingham forest

Couple of quick points:

1. It always surprises me how much the original Keane figure is transformed by taking off the beard!
2. Literally no idea who Phillips is.

Forest 93-94, Part 1!

Big order of Nottingham Forest figures recently completed!

While it's pretty difficult, I do enjoy pinstripes... and it's a good job too!!

Here are the first 4:
Crossley repaint nottingham forest

gary charles custom nottingham forest corinthian figure

Stuart Pearce Nottingham forest corinthian repaint

Colin Cooper, nottingham forest corinthian repaint

Pinstripes, an crisp clear badge in a shield, and a lovely Umbro number font. I could hardly have asked for more!

To explain that shield badge comment; I've recently had some trouble with 1980s 'shieldless ' badges'- when it was in fashion to just have for example EFC or the liver bird on the chest.... more on that later!

Segers, Forest

Did you know that Hans Segers played for Forest?

Neither did I, before this repaint!

I only remember him playing for Wimbledon and sitting on the bench at Spurs!

This was a nice simple repaint, but there is something quite charming about plain green keeper shirts from the 80s! I've done a few of them now, David Seaman, in his pre-Arsenal life springs to mind.

Five Forest Figures!

Well everyone, clearly my level of busy-ness doesn't coexist well with regularly posting high quality blog content!

So, here's the plan: posts every day this week, with plenty of photos, rather than just one or 2.

Let's start with some Forest figures... in no particular order:

Comments:

Benalouane- I like it, first time I've tried painting on one of those protective masks. I was a worried enough to try it out on a crappy old spare figure before accepting the job!

Lansbury and Lester: Lookalikes!

Dawson: I don't remember Forest having an Inter Milan phase!

van Hooijdonk- his name is so long, I had to make the letters smaller on the decal!!

See you tomorrow!

Bohinen, Forest

So, I just started writing a Gerry Francis QPR blog post, and got as far as adding the hyperlinks when I found out I had already done one for that figure... last November.

So here are a couple of more recent paint jobs: Lars Bohinen of Nottingham Forest.

Very pleased with both of these! I think the top one is a good example of the small details (such as the fine lines around the collar) really elevating what is otherwise a fairly simple kit.

The away shirt is just a lovely example of 90s football garishness!! I quite liked this kit at the time... for some reason. This is my first crack at it, but the buyer has suggested that it won't be my last!!

Cole, Forest

17 minutes until Leeds kick off... enough time to rustle up a quick blog post, surely!

I thought I'd make it the second Andy Cole in a row, and, being as it's a Forest one, I can see where I'm up to with blog posts being a jinx for the featured club...

Quite a simple but effective little repaint; the socks being the most complex part!! Especially as it's one of the poses where they actually join together.

Anyway, that's all I've got to say for now, let's sit back and see how this affects this afternoon's action.
DISCLAIMER: I know that it has no effect; it's just that time of the season.

Muppets.

I'm taking a slight change of tack with the style of prose on this blogpost. Let me know what you think.

This sausage thinks Leeds should get a points deduction despite not breaking any football league rules.

PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

As for this numpty:

He has far more rationally suggested that the game should be replayed!

It's actually hilarious!!

No offence intended to Forest/Leicester fans... you can still buy your figures from me.

Derby fans... you can too, as long as you don't mind me looking at the players...

Barmby, Forest

A while ago (On a Sheffield United post, I think) I said that repainting had reminded me, and sometimes taught me about loads of obscure transfers.

Speaking of which, here's Nottingham Forest's Nicky Barmby!

Other than saying I'd completely forgotten he ever played for them (though I must have known at the time, as he joined them from Leeds!) I don't have much else to add!

A pretty standard repaint, this one.

Carr and Keane, Forest

Time for a couple of Nottingham Forest figures!

You know I normally look for some kind of link when posting more than 1 figure in a blog post... the best I can do with these is they are from the same era- ish.

Carr and Keane!

A couple of points of interest:

1 The Franz Carr is a lookalike figure. (I'm sure some of you will recognise who was used!)
2. I had to give the Roy Keane figure a shave!! Well, paint over his beard anyway!! I'd done this once before on another figure, and was surprised by how much more like Keane it looked without the beard!

Des Walker, Forest

A couple more Forest repaints today!

Unless I'm mistaken, these kits pretty much top and tail Des Walker's career; one is from his early days at Forest, and the other is from his swansong!

As ever, you know I'm a sucker for pinstripe kits! I also like the difference of the Umbro style number font on the first one, and the uniform Championship font on the second.

Good to see that Des retained his youthful looks!!

Wright and Platt, Nottingham Forest

Here are repaints of two players aren't particularly well known for their spells at Forest... I didn't even know Wright had played for them until I got these requests!

I feel the need to say: I didn't give Platt golden highlights!! It's just how the sun was shining on him when I took this picture!

I think I'm right in saying he was player manager at Forest, so didn't play many games (5 according to Wiki)

Ian Wright got a respectable 5 goals in 10 appearances in his time at the club (again, according to Wiki)

I put these two in the same blog post just because of being in the same kit.

Collymore, Forest x2

I've recently got myself another bunch of orders from a Nottingham Forest fan, so there's gonna be plenty more Forest figures for your viewing pleasure!

Here are 2 of them, both Stan Collymores:

I've added them to this post in chronological order, of course!

Love the pinstripes on the first one!

The second one was quite interesting. It arrived with me having had the Collymore head swapped onto another body; Steve Stone, I think, although the name and number had been painted over.

All I had to do for that one was add Collymore's name and number 10, and darken the skin a little on the knees and hands to make it the same as his face.

Keane, Forest

Here's the last of my recent trio of Nottingham Forest repaints!

This is the same kit I painted on a Teddy Sheringham figure. Note the lack of a name on the back of the shirt; it was 93-94 before squad numbers were assigned, and names were printed on shirts in the Premier League.

The only other job for this figure was giving it a shave! I was surprised how much more it looked like Keane after I painted over the beard!

Here's a pic of a fresh face Keane, in his Forest days:

Collymore, Forest

Here's Stan Collymore in the kit from Forest's first season back in the Premiership.

Collymore was great that year; his performances paved the way for his big money move to Liverpool.

He was recently voted into Forest's all time greatest XI.

This is the 2nd Forest repaint I've put up on the blog from the three that I did recently. Keep your eyes out for the third!
