McClair, Celtic

Here's another figure I did specifically for eBay. My theory was: Celtic are a massive club, they're bound to have a serious collector who will want this!

Well, they haven't yet.

My main point of interest on this was the number being on the shorts instead of the shirt, discovered as I researched what number McClair wore for Celtic!

If you want it, click here for the eBay listing!

*EDIT- Already sold on ebay! I do have a spare McClair figure tho! Contact me if you want him repainted in this, or any other kit!*

Schmeichel, Man City

Peter Schmeichel, who, of course, ended his career at Manchester City. playing 31 games for them in the 2003-03 season.

...

I don't really have much to say about this figure!

Defoe, Last game for Spurs

This repaint was a present for my Nan!!

While I explained to her that Defoe figures in Spurs kits were already available, he's her favourite player, and I guess she just wanted a memento of her Grandson's talents!!

I decided to paint it into kit that wasn't released, to make it worthwhile. I decided that the kit he wore in his last game for Spurs was the best option.

Here you go Nan!!

Beckford, Leeds Promotion kit

After the performance of one of my faves, Jermaine Beckford, in the Play-off final for Preston, this figure came to mind!

I already posted a picture of Beckford in another Leeds kit, but this one is particularly relevant, as it's the kit when Beckford was the match-winner in a promotion decider.

The kit is very plain (I also painted it on Alex Bruce) You can't see it from this pic clearly, but I did add the 'Macron man' to the sleeve. I also added a Captain's band, as worn by Beckford in his last game for Leeds *sobs*

Here he is, celebrating the goal.

Bony, City (remodel)

My Man City regular gave me the challenge of a remodel for a Wilfried Bony figure, and I'd like to think it's a challenge I rose to!

I haven't done much remodelling as yet; I did a similar hairstyle for Ugo Ehiogu (tho I can't remember if I've posted the pics yet) and I would say that the practice on that one helped me do a better job on this one!

The only problem I had was black paint dripping all the way from the hair down Wilfried's back! Fortunately, I'd decided it was a good idea to do the actual kit after the hair anyway!

Costa Rica... the next 3!

Michael Barrantes:

Randall Brenes:

Junior Diaz:

I'm running out of things to say about these Costa Rica figures, to a degree!

So, just in case you haven't read my previous posts about them, I'll say again, that I think they are some of my best work!

I suppose it may be because I got plenty of practice, but I think the red 'swoosh' on the front is pretty slick, and I liked doing all the different boot designs.

Completing a whole squad was really satisfying. It may have been that that inspired me to do a whole Leeds 1992 team for myself.

Regarding these figures, by only Twitter reply was from Junior Diaz. He thought it was Niceee.

See?!

Ince, Derby

I thought I'd better post this pic, as, let's be honest, it's Tom Ince, and a transfer window is approaching!

If you follow my blog or Facebook page, you'll know that I've done a few Tom Ince figures; even though the Paul Ince figure doesn't look that much like him, I just can't resist using it to make Tom!

This Derby kit was quite a simple repaint, to be honest.

It ended up being sold on ebay.

Domi, Leeds

I painted this aaaaaaaaaaaaaages ago! A recent re-organisation of my repaint photos made me realise just how behind I was- particularly with posting the Leeds pics!

This one is of Didier Domi; another repaint of a player who hardly sparkled for Leeds, but who was nonetheless deemed a necessary addition to my collection by the crazy collector part of my brain.

It was also clearly painted at a time when I was paying very close attention to boot design!! I still do the boots sometimes, depends what kind of mood I'm in!

Domi played on loan in the 2003-04 season, when Leeds were relegated.

He is remembered as one of the better Peter Reid loanees... which probably says more about the rest of them than about him.

'Corbett', Everton

This was one of those times I was asked to find a 'lookalike' figure, for a relative's birthday present.

If I say so myself, the likeness of this one is bang on!

The kit chosen was Everton's FA Cup Final winning strip of 1995. Good choice! Both the customer, and the guy it was for loved it!

As for me, well, you'll know by now how much I love hooped socks!

Ruddock, Spurs

It's hard to believe that it's pretty much a year since my big Spurs order... and that I'm still posting the photos of the figures from it now! Just in case you wondered, that's because I like to mix up the order of the photos to give my readers a bit of variety!

This figure was a pretty straightforward repaint of Razor Ruddock, in an early 90s kit.

Razor also retweeted an image of this repaint on twitter. Whether that's because of the figure, or pandering to him with the phrase"THFC great"... it still counts!

Peruzzi, Juve

It's funny; writing the title for this post confused me! I couldn't think who this keeper actually is! After all of my Costa Rica figure exploits, he will always be Keylor Navas to me!

He's Angelo Peruzzi, of course, and the kit chosen was Juve's keeper kit for the... I wanna say 1996(?) Champions League final.

I particularly liked doing the stars on the sleeves; stars which also feature on the Blue kit the outfield players wore in that same final.

Here is the best image I could find of the keeper shirt:

Goater, Man City

Here's another pretty unique repaint!

The variety of figures requested is one of the things I really like about doing repaints for people.

While Man City now have a team of millionaire mega stars, I find it quite comforting that Shaun Goater in Division 2 playoff final kit was a priority for this Man City fan!

I also found this kit interesting to paint!

Hasselbaink, Leeds

I've just been having a major sort out of my repaint photos, and realised there are a hell of a lot of Leeds repaints that I haven't posted here on my blog!

One of them is this Hasselbaink figure, which I did quite a while ago. I think I could definitely do a better job if I were to do it again now!

I decided to paint him in 1997-98 kit, as I felt this fitted in with the rest of my collection better.

Ater deciding on the kit, my other main decision was whether to put 'Hasselbaink' on the shirt, or put 'Jimmy' as he wore on his debut! I chose Hasselbaink in the end... I had to make the lettering quite small!

Keep an eye on my blog for more Hasselbaink figures soon; one order, one Microstar for myself... and maybe even a manager one in future if you believe the recent rumours!!

Oh, I almost forgot; Jimmy retweeted a photo of this repaint:

Weah, Chelsea

This is my second George Weah repaint, in recent times.

The other showed his time at Man City.

According to Wiki, Weah's time in England was deemed a success! (Not really sure who by!)

He did manage 5 goals in 15 appearances for Chelsea, including some key goals in their FA Cup run. He was 34 at the time, so i guess his record isn't bad.

Scott Partridge, Bath City

So, here is the 4th of my Bath City repaints!

This one uses a lookalike as club legend Scott Partridge!

I don't have much else to say about this one, other than I know it was bought as a gift, and, according to the guy that bought it, it "went down a storm"!

I'll settle for that :)

Here's a pic of the real kit:

More Adjustments!

In a short spell where orders had died down for a bit, I decided to improve some of the figures in my collection that were previously still "as released"; the "unrepainted" aspect of my collection, if that makes sense!

It is something I've done before, as these blog posts on Gary McAllister and Jack Charlton show, and I recently just thought to myself; "Why did I stop there?!"

One of the things I didn't particularly like about a lot of the Leeds figures was the clarity of the badges, which were just printed in yellow, so I did something about it!

Ferdinand, on the left has the original, printed badge, while Bowyer has the new one. I think it works!

I also decided to add Champions League sleeve patches to the 2000/01 Leeds figures that I own, as modeled here by Jason Wilcox!

Little things, but after years of repainting, I started to think; "Why should my repaints be more detailed than the original figures, when I could do something about it?!"

Milestone

My Facebook page reached 350 likes this morning, woo!

This in a week where this very blog passed 15,000 views!

Thanks for all the support!

SAME DAY EDIT: I'm now up to 362!

Bianchi, Torino

Here's my second Torino repaint (the first being a Quagliarella Prostar)

This one is a Microstar, which I've done surprisingly few of so far! They are similar in size to Soccerstarz figures, and as far as I'm aware, it's only the bases that are noticeably different.

I was pleased with how this turned out; the Kappa logos on the side were definitely an achievement!!

Bianchi himself favourited an this image when it was sent to him on Twitter... not by me incidentally!

Always nice to be described as 'Very talented'!
