Belak, Coventry Blaze
Here's a Funko that was done for a Christmas present; my first hockey one!
Unless I'm mistaken, this is Wade Belak, of the Coventry Blaze. I enjoyed doing this- a bit awkward round the arms, but quite a nice kit.
I also did the skates, and had to change the hair from the original figure.

Manning, Denver Broncos
Well, gang, here's the second of my American Football figure repaints; Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos!
In honour of this figure, I thought I'd spend the rest of this post writing everything I know about American Football:

Keegan's entertainers; the last bit?!
A while back, I put up a post with loads of figures in one picture (I think) largely beacuse they were all in the same kit... and partly because when that's the case, sometimes I can't be bothered photographing them separately.
Anyway, here's what I think will be the last part of the set:
Last but not least, Keith Gillespie he wasn't part of the first set, just because he's harder to come by than the others, I think! I've done this kit loads now!
Anyway, here's what I think will be the last part of the set:
Firstly, here's the man himself! Keegan was released as Newcastle manager, but this customer wanted the official tracksuit, rather than the plain one Corinthian produced. And looking at the results, who can blame him!!
I do like putting the initials on when doing coaches and managers!
Unless I'm mistaken, McDermott was KK's assistant at the time, and wore the away kit for the team picture, which I think is why this one was requested. (He actually played for Newcastle in the 70s- long before this kit!)
It was one of those repaints that I had to think pretty hard about, and involved some 'on shirt mixing' but I loved how it turned out, as did the buyer!

Speed 92-93 Vivid Imaginations figures
Full disclosure: I have pretty much no idea which Leeds figures I have posted to this blog before!!
I have done so many over the years that, even though they are my own team, they're probably the hardest for me to keep track of. There are certainly more Leeds figures in my repaints folder than any other team, which, in turn, puts me off blogging them!
But with all that said, here are 3 that I'm fairly sure haven't appeared here before:
Vivid Imaginations figures! No Gary Speed figures were made so (whisper it) these were originally... Ryan Giggs!!
Anyway, I was delighted with how they turned out- particularly the 2 away kits! The shirts were a bit of a challenge, but one that I relished once I got started!
Something I found interesting is that there is very little that matches about these kits. These days, there is something that makes kits 'a set' be that similar trim around the cuffs, the same style of collar; that sort of thing. These just seem pretty randomised.
OK, the 2 away shirts are the same pattern, but look at the shorts; different from each other, and from the home kit! Completely different collar on the home kit too! Only the socks have any kind of uniformity!! Maybe that's why we didn't win away in the league all season...

1980s Liverpool
Today, a team of children wearing Liverpool kits knocked Everton out of the FA Cup. Seems as good a reason as any to post some Liverpool repaints here:
You may have seen me post a similar Grobbelaar figure recently-ish... but it's my blog, so I'll do what I like!! This one was reproduced after someone took a shine to the first one, when it was posted on twitter.
Fun fact: I still don't know how to spell Grobbelaar without googling it... or having googled it for this blog post, at the very least thinking about it very hard.
As for Venison... I don't know if he had such a splendid mullet in his Liverpool days, but it seemed worth painting nonetheless, and I managed to sell this one on ebay, so at least one other person thought so too!

Newcastle Keepers
New Year... probably same me when it comes to blog posts!!
Still, let's start the new year off with a bang. Well, 5 pictures anyway, and what a great post if you're a Newcastle fan, or part of the Goalkeeper's Union!!
A few comments: There was no John Burridge figure- I used a lookalike to make the first one, and as soon as I finished, and put it on Instagram, someone asked for another!
That green kit for Given and Shaka ended up quite nicely. It was a relatively simple but effective one; I think the adidas stripes on the inside of the arm were a new thing for me!!
And as for the last one, well, hopefully he'll be appearing in a book this year! He was done for the writer of Glove Story, along with a few other figures for the sequel! Excited to see that, hopefully later this year!
