Vinnie Jones, Leeds

Vinnie Jones, in Leeds' 89-90 promotion winning kit.

The kit was pretty plain; The only reason I've put on that side view is so you can see that it isn't just plain white! Pity that section came out a bit blurry!

Couldn't find a great pic to show the kit, but thought this would do!

Phillips, Sunderland

Quite surprised Corinthian didn't make this figure in the first place, tbh; Phillips did bag 30 goals to become the Premier League's top scorer in 2000.

This figure, however, was only made in England kit.

I did this for a friend of mine who is a Sunderland fan as a Christmas/sorry I didn't fill in the 'Pointless' application form' present. It went down pretty well!

His exact words were: "THANK YOU!!!!!!!! IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!"

Barmby, Leeds

Another one of those that would hardly rank as a Leeds legend, but... there was a figure of him!

Don't really have much else to say on the matter!

Carr Gate FC

Tony Yeboah, Jamie Ndlovu

Did these ages ago now, but thought I'd post them up anyway!

Part of an order requested Tony Yeboah and 'Jamie' Ndlovu in the Sunday League kit of Carr Gate FC.

As I've said before, as long as you can provide a picture of the kit, I am more than willing to do park teams, 5 a-side kits, or Non-league kits. These can be using 'look-alike' figures, or of a favourite player as a novelty item!

Ebaying

Well, this week saw me take the plunge, and list some of the figures that I'd repainted, but didn't want for my own collection, on ebay.

The figures in question were Darren Anderton, and Frank Lampard.

Considering that these weren't requested by anyone, I was delighted to see that they both sold!

The Lampard one even went for more than I usually charge for a custom repaint!

Experiment successful! Keep your eye out for a few more listings!

Ehiogu Update:

Had a tweet back from Mr. Ehiogu!

I agree with him on the hair. Like I said last time, if I do ever start remoulding, this'll be the first figure that I attempt to adjust!

Ehiogu, Leeds

leeds united utd bet 24 kit

Think it was about this time of year that Dennis Wise signed Ehiogu on a short term loan for Leeds.

I like this repaint. I did the cuffs on the shirt, but painted the arms white, as Ehiogu favoured wearing that under-armour stuff in his time at Leeds.

If I was to ever attempt re-moulding, I think I would start with this one; Ugo'd had a change of hairstyle in between this sculpt and joining LUFC!

Anderton Update:

As you may have noticed with some of my previous posts, I sometimes tweet a pic of the finished repaint to the player it is.

Since doing my Anderton post, I've had this back:

Probably the highest profile player to reply so far.

Other replies have come from Dom Poleon and Ian Baird.

Gary Abbott, Enfield FC

Enfield's top scorer, in the very distinctive mid-90s away kit!

Had to do this kit from memory, as, apparently, there is a limit to what you can find online; mid 90s non-league football away kit images being a bit of a no go!

Beckford, Leeds

Finished this ages ago, just didn't get round to posting it on here (tho it has made an appearance on the facebook page.)

Felt Jermaine was worthy of a figure for all the good work he put in, in L1!

Roy Race, 1980s... again

A recent order request, from someone who saw my Roy of the Rovers repaints and wanted one for himself!

The differences between this one and my first 1980s Roy Race are the lack of a sponsor, and the yellow number (rather than black)

And, I would say, this is slightly neater! The 80s Roy Race for my own collection was my first ever attempt at stripes!

Ian Baird, Leeds

A friend of mine asked me if I could do him an Ian Baird.

Genuinely love that my first response was: "With mullet or without?!"

He chose with!

Escape to Victory: Full Set

Realised that I promised to post the full Escape to Victory set 'soon'... in August.

So, as a man of my word, here it is:

Anderton, Bournemouth

At a time when I didn't have any to do for my own collection, or any orders, I had a look through the big box and had a think about which figures in there I could do what I imagined would be a fairly unique repaint of.

One of the results was John Barnes in Watford colours, and the next was this Darren Anderton.

After a pretty successful, if injury hit, career at the top level, Anderton finished his career with his hometown club, Bournemouth.

Unless I am mistaken (which is possible, I'm not a Bournemouth expert!) this is the kit in which he made his final appearance, grabbing a winning goal!

Pure Roy of the Rovers stuff!

Here's the bbc's take on the events, and a picture from the game:

Dom Poleon, Leeds United

custom repainted corinthian figures

Here, I used a 'lookalike' figure to make young Leeds forward Dom Poleon.

Fancied doing something other than white, and hate our 2nd strip, hence the use of the third kit.

Like this one, and Dom himself seemed to like it too:

Fairly happy with the detail on the sleeves, shorts and socks.

Oh, and the boots.

Alex Bruce, Leeds

repainted customised corinthian figure steve bruce

Had the idea for this figure when looking through the big box of old figures that was sent to me by a friend a while back.

To be entirely honest, I just thought, "What shall I do with all these Man U figures".

I probably wouldn't have painted Alex Bruce otherwise! He doesn't even look that much like his old man!

Nonetheless,  here he is in 10/11 kit, and his adidas boots!

Boots

Custom repainted corinthian figures

As I've improved, one of the things I've enjoyed doing is painting player specific boots designs onto figures.

This is a small selection!

Beardsley, Hartlepool

Repainted corinthian figure customised football figurine

One of those 'for the sake of it' figures, to be honest.

I had a Beardsley in my big box, and so just got on with it.

I also tweeted it to Jeff Stelling to try and get some heat for the blog, but no response!

I don't think it's one of my better ones, tbh, maybe because I was painting it, just for the sake of it.

Even still... I couldn't resist going back to it and evening up the front stripes a bit after this photo was taken! (Couldn't be bothered photographing again... sorry!)

This was the only pic of Bearsley in Hartlepool colours I could find!

Matteo, Leeds 2000-01

Leeds united repainted corinthian figures prostars headliners

DOM MATTEOOOOOOOO,
SCORED A *VERY* GREAT GOOOOOAAAL
IN THE SAN SIROOOOOOO...

In fairness to Corinthian, Leeds had a lot of good players at the time Matteo played for us, but I still found it quite surprising that there weren't any figures of him in Leeds colours.

This sculpt, which, lets be honest, doesn't look much like him, began life in Liverpool kit.

I was thinking of doing it in our 03-04 dark blue kit (just because I fancy painting something different) but then thought, it has to be the 2000-01 home kit, as worn in his finest hour:

Adjustments

adjustments personalised Leeds United

To make this Charlton figure match the rest of the Revie repaints, I added LUFC script to the chest, and numbered sock tags.

Lampard, Swansea

Swansea City Chelsea

I can't remember the exact details, but a while back, I came across a youtube video of a teenage Frank Lampard making his debut on loan for Swansea City.

While a normal person would have just thought "Oh, that's interesting," I immediately decided that I needed to paint a Corinthian of it!

And the above was the result.

There's something great about mid 90s lower league kits! I enjoyed painting this one!

Here's a fresh-faced Frank:

(EDIT- This figure was one of my first to be 'ebayed', with encouraging results!)

Tony Yeboah, Leeds Away

Monaco Hat trick Yeboah number 8 shirt

Here's another repaint which was part of an order dominated by Yeboahs!

This one depicts Leeds 1994-96 away kit which *urban myth warning* apparently had to be changed because the players found it difficult to see Yeboah in evening games!

This one features the number 8 shirt, as opposed to Tony's customary number 21, to replicate Yeboah on the night of his European hat trick vs Monaco, where Leeds wore shirts numbered 1-11.

I liked this repaint so much that I did one for myself too! I chose the 21 shirt for my own version:

Leeds United

Both figures also feature Yeboah's favoured Puma boots.

In case you are unfamiliar with the kit:

'John Colby': Escape to Victory

The Allies, John Colby repainted corinthian figure

Being as he sneaked into the last post, here's John Colby (aka Michael Caine) of West Ham United and England.

Here he is as the Captain and manager of the Allies, in Escape to Victory.

This is the last figure I plan on painting in my Escape to Victory Series, tho I will post a picture of them all together soon.

The figure chosen to best portray Caine's marvellously unkempt curly side-parting was Scott Gemmill

Rodney Jack, Torquay United

corinthian repaint torquay utd

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of this repaint, as I finished it when I was away from home, and didn't have my camera with me.

Tho it's a little sketchy here, in the end, I was very happy with the neatness of the stripes, considering how thin they are.

The Torquay badges show up nicely, and the back has a number nine, but no name, as was the style at the time!

Note a few Le Tisses looking on, as well as a sneak preview of John Colby, and another unfinished repaint that you'll see soon!

Here's a pic of the kit, for comparison:

Robbie Keane, Leeds 2001

I found it quite surprising that they never made a Keane figure in Leeds colours. This could be because, under O'Leary, we already had about 3 billion other strikers...

I decided to go with the Champions League season kit, I guess that's because it holds better memories than the next season's one.

(I also had Barmby, Morris and Domi figures that I planned on painting in the next kit design, albeit with different sponsors)

Anyway, here's a photo of it:
(I even had a go at those boots!)

One of my favourite things about this repaint: I left it on the table to dry, next to a Michael Bridges original, which I had been using to copy the kit.

My housemate had a look at them both, and thought that mine was the professionally produced one!

Cheers Iain!

'Humes' Newcastle Goalie kit

repainted corinthian figure

Here's an interesting request I got for an order a short while back.

The request was from a man who wanted a figure of his teenage son!

I found 3 possible 'lookalike' figures, and he chose this one himself.

Then I let him decide on all the details that he wanted: kit, name and shirt number, and even boots!

If you would like a similar service, get in touch : )

(In case you are wondering, the original figure is Branagan)

Repainted corinthian figure guernsey football club Green lions

Here's a kit you may have seen on here before, but a post I feel proud to make!

After a fair bit of contact on twitter with the guy I sold the first Guernsey Le Tiss to, here are a bunch that he is now going to sell on match days : )

Within an hour of this picture going up on twitter, he had agreed deals to sell 3 of them!

COYGL!

Jody Morris, Leeds

You may have noticed that players hardly have to be Leeds legends to get repainted by me. They just have to have played for Leeds and be accessible on ebay.

Here's a repaint that proves this entirely!
Repainted corinthian figures personalised to order leeds utd

Morris: Proof that I'll paint pretty much anyone who's played for Leeds.

Only 12 games for us, and then celebrating like a tit when he scored a penalty at Elland Road for Millwall.

Leeds UNited worst signings

He also had a haircut in between this figure being made and him joining us!

EDIT: Oh, and another thing... 'Sporting Heroes'?! LOL.
