New Addition:

Not a repaint, but a sign of how seriously I am taking this!

As I was innocently doing my food shop in Aldi the other day, one of the random items they had in the central aisle was a hobby box!

A quick look confirmed that it was perfect for Corinthian painting!

A section for paints, brushes, cotton buds, transfers and the figures that I am working on! A snip at £3.99!!

Roy Race 1980s

Melchester Rovers Gola kit 1980s soccer football

My second Roy of the Rovers!

This time, I used Warren Barton to capture Roy's beautifully coiffed centre parting.

Rovers wore red and yellow hoops for much of the 1980s. According to Wiki, the Gola sponsor appeared in 1981, but was gone the subsequent year.

'Pele'; Escape to Victory

Paul Ince, Luis Fernandez Pele Number 10 Corinthian football figure

If you don't know what this post is about, get to know!

I just couldn't resist painting the kit featured in one of my all time favourite films! It is sported by the Allied prisoners of War in a game against the German national team in 'Escape to Victory'.

Pele plays Luis Fernandez of Trinidad and Tobago, but still wears his customary number 10!

The film also features Bobby Moore and Ossie Ardiles, as well as Michael Caine and Sly Stallone (repaints using other figures coming at some point!)

Tho I wouldn't dream of repainting a rare Pele figure, Paul Ince seemed a reasonable enough likeness (in looks, if not ability!)

Shaun Derry

Here's Shaun Derry, as he looked in his Leeds days!

Tho I can't quite remember, as I haven't been posting these in the order that I painted them, I think this is the first one that I finished that has a sponsor, 2 badges, and a name as well as a shirt number.

Pretty pleased with it, tbh! I enjoyed the precision of the pinstripes!

The hair band, in case you were wondering, is just an elastic band!

And to those of you who have seen him on MotD recently, here's the proof that he did once look a bit like this!

Roy Race 1970s

In case any of you are unsure, Roy Race is also known as Roy of the Rovers! Here he is:

Melchester Rovers

Coming up with this idea was the first time I ever thought: Barry Venison's hair is just what I need! Tho Venison's hair is blonde, I decided to paint Roy's with a bright, gloss yellow to give it more of a comic book feel.

Tho it's hard to see on the photos, I have included the stripe down the socks!

The numbers, both on the sleeve and the back are hand-painted, and not done with transfer paper.

Terry Cooper

So, here is the very first one that I finished: Terry Cooper.

Leeds United Corinthian football figures repaints

I started with 1970s Leeds players for a few reasons; firstly it's a travesty that Corinthian only produced Jack Charlton in the first place; secondly I love the Leeds team from that era; and perhaps most importantly, I thought it would be easier to paint!

Though I say this was the first one I finished, I have gone back to adjust it a little since, due to increased confidence/competence! I added details such as the white boots, the sock tags, and the mono-brow!

I used dry rub off transfer paper for the shirt number, and the LUFC script logo on the chest. The sock tags are hand painted tho!

In case you wondered, the figure started life as John Greig.

The Purpose

Yeah, it's almost a cliche now, but this is how I start new blogs. This is my 4th one, you see!

(My other blogs, in case you wondered, can cater for your needs if you want Leeds United based whimsyMini sagas, or 6 word stories.)

But what's this one about?

My latest blogspot is all about showcasing my latest obsession; repainting Corinthian football figures!

I started collecting them when I was 10, and that lasted for a few years.

Last year, for no obvious reason, my interest in collecting was rekindled.

And then I discovered repainting... and I wanted to try it!

Here is where you'll see my results, and hopefully, my progress!
