Thompson, Celtic

Here's an Alan Thompson figure, in Celtic away kit.

Corinthian released Microstar and Fan Favourite versions of Thompson as a Celtic player, but not Prostars, hence this repaint!

This was the first time I'd done this kit, and it was fairly straightforward (awkward left arm position not withstanding!)

Here's the real Alan Thompson in the kit!

I used a Thompson figure for one of my first ever repaints! Here he is, in his Leeds United days!

Salah, AS Roma

Here's the second Roma figure from a recent order:

It's a Mo Salah soccerstarz... but I don't have that much to say about it to be honest!

I found a spot on shirt number font online, which always pleases me!

I also think that shirts without sponsors look class!

Hopefully I'll be doing some more Roma figures in future.

Spurs, Chocolate Brown!

Spurs certainly have had some interesting kits! Here are a trio of players repainted in the chocolate brown number!

Here we have Berbatov, Davids and Dawson; Davids being one of the figures where long hair means you can't fit a name on the back of the shirt as well as a number!

Here's a picture of the kit, in case you don't remember it!

Kanchelskis, Man City

I painted this ages ago, but it's just one of those that I haven't got round to posting on here!

I've actually got a folder of 254 pictures on desktop, most of which need putting on here! See why I've been doing 2 or 3 figures at a time recently?!

Anyway, I haven't got that much to say about this one, although clearly I was feeling very pleased with the boots when I took and edited the picture!

Here's the real Kanchelskis in the same kit:

Ian Wright, Palace

Gotta say; I'm a big fan of this one:

Obviously every repaint is significant to the person who orders it, but when I received this order, I just thought; yeah, that's one that should be made!

I was also delighted with how it turned out- from a technical perspective, getting the sponsors perfectly lined up on striped kits is one of the harder things to do. The badge fits perfectly into the stripe on the shirt too!

The basic message is: I was happy with this!!

Ian Wright seemed to like it too!

Lennon x2, Leeds

Aaron Lennon could be one of my most regularly repainted figures! I don't have any stats to back that up, it just feels like it!

With that in mind, here are two more Lennons!

The top one is part of my own collection. I'd already done Lennon in all the home kits he wore for Leeds, so I did one in an away kit that I really liked... even though I think I'm right in saying we never won a game in it! I have previously done an Alan Smith figure in the same kit, if you wan to have a look.

The second figure was an order, and this one is wearing the home kit from our last season in the Premier League. Lennon became the youngest player to make his debut, and showed glimpses of the flair that meant we were always unlikely to hang on to him...

Here's Lennon's face when he was told he was leaving Leeds!

Leeds Rhinos

Here we have a couple of different Leeds Rhinos repaints, of varying Rugby prowess! SPOTY nominee Kevin Sinfield... and 'Spence'; a lookalike figure personalised for someone's birthday!

England, Italia 90...wherever I'm up to!

I think this is the 4th post of England World Cup '90 figures! On to Euro 2000 soon...

I was very surprised that there wasn't already a Gascoigne made in this kit, to be honest. I said the same about there being no Spurs one when I repainted him in that. Surely both would have been very popular!

Platt and Gazza had good tournaments- Platt scoring against Belgium in the last minute of extra time, and Gazza... well, rocketing to stardom!

...

Seaman had to pull out of the squad and was replaced by Dave Beasant!!

Gazza x3, Spurs

Here are 3 different sculpts of Paul Gascoigne, all painted into the same kit!

Centre-backs, Leeds 1992

If you've followed my blog, or Facebook page for a while, you'll probably know that a favourite project of mine was completing a Leeds United 'Last Champions' XI.

I finished it a while ago, but I haven't posted all the pictures yet.

Here's the centre back pairing:

I had to use lookalike figures for Fairclough and Whyte, but I think I found pretty good ones!

Mpenza, Man City

Here's a lookalike figure of Emile Mpenza, in his Man City days.

I don't know why, but I love corinthian sculpts with dreadlocks! It's probably why I made a Leeds United Habib Habibou figure; let's face it, that was nothing to do with his performances!

Mpenza had a better record than Habibou, anyway! He scored 5 in his one season at Man City.

I really like the pinstripes on this repaint... aand of course that it has dark (not white)numbers!

Here's Mpenza:

Dzeko, AS Roma

(Please excuse the photo quality- I took it with poor light, so that I could post the figure the next day!!)

My first (but not my last) AS Roma repaint!

This one, a Soccerstarz figure, is former Man City striker Edin Dzeko.

I'm a big fan of shirts without sponsors on... and not just because it takes away one of the more fiddly jobs in a repaint! It gives a shirt a classy, traditional look, in my eyes!

Here's a picture of Dzeko sporting it in real life:

England, Italia '90... the next bit!

The next batch of Italia '90 England repaints! Parker, Wright and Dorigo.

I think I've talked enough about how I feel about the kit and the shirt numbers in the previous posts!

Gale, Castleford Tigers

I've been asked to do a few rugby figures recently, but they have mainly been Leeds Rhinos ones!

This was my first Castleford Tiger!

As I think I mentioned in a previous rugby figure post, the main problem I've had with these is the position of the arms- it sometimes means that I can't put a sponsor on! I don't think it detracts from this one too much tho!

Neither did Gale himself, who had this to say on Twitter:

Klinsmann x2, Spurs

This isn't the first time I've repainted a Klinsmann figure! (If you want to see the first time, click here!)

That one was a Prostar; here we have 2 microstars!

Home and away kits worn by Klinsmann in his first spell at White Hart Lane!

I was only a kid when Klinsmann played for Spurs, but I remember him being pretty amazing!! A quick look at his Wiki page shows that he got 30 goals in 50 games in all competitions... not bad!!
