Don, Ireland Rugby

Here's one with a bit of a different story behind it;

While I was teaching, I was in charge of the Tag Rugby club, and I had the most brilliant parent helper come in every week to lead it.

I wanted to thank him for all his efforts, so I did this:

Change of kit, complete with correct name, and a number that suited him (he doesn't strike me as a forward!) and a new name on the base.

He was pleased with it, I think!

Delaney, Leeds Rhinos.

I've done more Leeds Rhinos players than any other team... when it comes to rugby figures that is!

Here's the latest; Brett Delaney in the most recent Rhinos kit.

As in the past with the rugby figures, the position of the ball is more of an issue than it is with football figures! On this one, I could only add the badge to the shorts.

As with many of the others, I also got to add a splendid beard!

Here's the real kit... I didn't add all the sponsors and logos!!

Leeds Rhinos

Here we have a couple of different Leeds Rhinos repaints, of varying Rugby prowess! SPOTY nominee Kevin Sinfield... and 'Spence'; a lookalike figure personalised for someone's birthday!

Gale, Castleford Tigers

I've been asked to do a few rugby figures recently, but they have mainly been Leeds Rhinos ones!

This was my first Castleford Tiger!

As I think I mentioned in a previous rugby figure post, the main problem I've had with these is the position of the arms- it sometimes means that I can't put a sponsor on! I don't think it detracts from this one too much tho!

Neither did Gale himself, who had this to say on Twitter:

Walters and Hardaker, Leeds Rhinos

I've been doing a few more rugby figures in recent times! Here are a couple of Leeds Rhinos players!

The main difference I've found with painting rugby figures, is that the poses can lead to problems with fitting everything on that you need to... not helped by the fact that Rugby League kits tend to have about 20,000 sponsors!

I think these turned out well in the end tho! I particularly enjoyed the beards!!

Oliver, School Rugby kit!

This was another Christmas present; Oliver plays rugby for his school team, so when I was approached about doing a figure of him, I was excited to use a Rugby Headliner figure for the first time!

The shirt number is 12, to match his age!

Have a similar figure request for a rugby playing relative? Get in touch!
