Delaney, Leeds Rhinos.

I've done more Leeds Rhinos players than any other team... when it comes to rugby figures that is!

Here's the latest; Brett Delaney in the most recent Rhinos kit.

As in the past with the rugby figures, the position of the ball is more of an issue than it is with football figures! On this one, I could only add the badge to the shorts.

As with many of the others, I also got to add a splendid beard!

Here's the real kit... I didn't add all the sponsors and logos!!

Kompany, City away

Here's one of the toughest repaints I've been asked to do.

It came out ok... but think it could have been better. I guess that's the perfectionist in me! It would definitely have been easier on a Prostar, anyway!

If you have a look at the real kit, the stripes at the bottom are so thin, that it just looks purple. I decided to go with stripes, rather than just painting the bottom half purple. I think that was the right decision.

Anyway, here is the real kit:

Leeds Tracksuits, part 3.

I think I explained in a previous post that one customer decided that he would like the full 1970s Leeds United line-up in their iconic pre-match tracksuits, so here are the next three without further ado:

Danby Rovers

Here are 3 figures in the kit of Danby Rovers!

One of my regular customers requested a figure of himself, which obviously I was happy to do, and then he showed it to his team mates, and 2 of them decided to get figures of their own!

Here they are:

Ravanelli, Derby

Funny to think this is only my second Derby repaint.

This is another of those figures that I just took out of my spare box, and painted a kit that I thought might interest someone.

I'll probably put it on ebay soon!

McStay, Celtic

If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you'll probably know what I'm going to say about this kit by now!

In a nutshell, the level of detail makes it an interesting one to paint, even though it is widely regarded as one of the most ugly shirts in Celtic history!!

I've done it on a few different players now, so I have gotten to know the design quite well!!

One of the challenges has been to mix the colours in the same way on subsequent repaints- I haven't painted them all at the same time, but they are for the same collector, meaning  ideally, they'll be exactly the same shades! I've used the photos that I keep of every repaint I do to help!

Here's the kit, as represented on the excellent Historical Kits website:

Matteo x2, Leeds

To give you a bit of insight, I keep photos of every repaint I've ever done in a folder on my laptop.

When I've added them to both my blog and my Facebook page, I move them to a folder called 'used'.

Now, this was pretty simple when I was only doing a couple of repaints a month, but now, I am starting to lose track of what I've posted where!

So here's a post of 2 pics that I know for certain I haven't posted here yet, and that can tidy my 'repaints' album a little!

A pair of Matteos! In both of the kits from Leeds' Champions League season.

And in case you were wondering, the above Matteo is not the same as this one; both of these were for a customer whereas the first one was for me!

Harte, Carlisle

My first ever Carlisle United repaint!

Ian Harte:

I've done a few Ian Harte repaints- Leeds and Ireland before this one, but he had a few more clubs too!

Let me know if you're a Blackpool fan that wants one! Or a Sunderland fan. Or a Levante fan!!

... I think that's it! Ah. Bournemouth!! And Reading!

So, yeah... fans of any of those clubs, I'd be happy to do an Ian Harte figure for you!

Back to this figure; I think it was at Carlise where Harte really got his career back on track! After losing form and confidence at Leeds, it took a few moves before he found a good fit.

His performances with Carlise were good enough to get him a move to Reading that yielded Premiership football once more.

I think I'm right in saying he also earned another promotion to the Prem with Bournemouth, but retired after doing so.

This has been a long post! Well, longer than recent ones.

I'll round it off with a pic of Harte at Carlisle taking one of his trademark freekicks!

Haaland away, City

Considering it's a pretty rare figure, I've done a few Haalands now, both in Leeds and City colours.

Here's the latest one:

There's also a funny coincidence behind this one; Someone contacts me saying he's buying a Haaland figure from ebay to send to me, and when it arrives, what should it be but one I've already repainted into Leeds colours!

As it turned out, one of my previous customers needed to raise a bit of cash, and have a clear-out as he was moving house. No hard feelings!

I should note also that he was most disappointed that it was being repainted into a non-Leeds kit!! I said that it was following Haaland's real career transfers.

Anyway, I enjoyed this kit; I've done it one time before this, on a Shaun Wright Phillips figure, but found it slightly easier this time... maybe because this figure has a slightly bigger body!

McManaman, Real Madrid

Here's a repaint that I just fancied doing (and thought I might be able to sell to someone!) when I looked through my box of spares.

I think it was something to do with licensing that meant few, if any, Real Madrid figures were done.

This is my first Real repaint, anyway.

If you want it, get in contact!

If you want it but aren't so bold, keep your eyes on ebay in the next few weeks!

Hernandez, Leeds

Well, first off, Happy New Year!

And may I say how nice it is to start the new year as a Leeds fan not already knowing that the season is over!

A part of that has to be owed to this man: Pablo Hernandez

Released as a Swansea figure, as soon as we signed him, I knew I'd have to get myself one! The second one (in away kit) was for a customer)

Both kits are fairly plain, so didn't pose many problems. I think the hardest part was getting the Kappa logos down the side of the shorts on the home kit... yeah, the photo doesn't show it.

The only other problem I saw is that I'm not sure Pablo has ever worn the yellow away kit... but that's what was requested, so that's what I did!

Just need one in the blue kit, and I'll have painted a full set!
