He's our Centre half, he's our number...5

I posted 2 home kit Celtic van Dijks a good few weeks ago now, with the promise of some away kits. Here they are!

While I quite like all the kits you see here, i'll level with you and say: I'm  not bothered if i never paint another Kodoto figure again!!

They are different from corinthians in that they have moving heads and arms,, which I tried to 'cover all angles' with, but the paint would often crack around the joins. I the end, I just asked the buyer what he thought... and whether he had any intention of ever moving the arms!! 

He said he was happy for me to glue them still if I wanted!!

Aaaaand, unless I'm mistaken, that's every kit VVD ever wore at celtic, done!

van Dijk, Celtic home kits

van Dijk... or Virgil as he seemed to want to be called at Celtic! Here are a couple of Kodoto figures, with the promise of more to come (away kits!)

I've had plenty of practice of doing hoops lately, with big QPR and Celtic orders, and it's a good job too, with these 2! Look at the thin white hoops within the green hoops on the top one, and the little ones next to the thick hoops on the bottom one!

Thes figures also have captain's armbands added. Recommendation when doing these: check is the buyer has any intention of moving the arms, and if not- keep them very still!!

A couple of Kodotos

 Does what it says in the title, this post:

It was nice to do a couple of different kits- I'd only done one Marseilles before, and zero Porto, if I remember correctly.

The only problem with these is the moving arms. Absolute pain to paint around...

Chicharito, Bayer Leverkusen

Football is back! It's the Bundesliga, it's behind closed doors, and if you hadn't been without football for 9 weeks you absolutely wouldn't care, but: Yay for the Bundesliga!

I originally planned to post some Spurs pics today (cos I still have a huge back log of them) but then I remembered the above... so sorry Spurs fans, but I'm sure you can wait til tomorrow.

Definitely the only Leverkusen figure I've done! Definitely the only Chicharito I've done!

It's a nice one tho- I quite like red and black stripes and hoops.

In case any of you are wondering why it looks a little different, it's a Kodoto figure. They're similar in size to Prostars, but have moving arms and a turnable head! The moving arms are a bit of an issue to be honest! Painting around them tries my patience, anyway!!

Zlatan, LA Galaxy

After my most monthly blog views in a couple of years, I then went a month without a single post!! Anyone would think I had school reports to write!!

Anyway, back with some red hot content, with a player in the news today. Cos keeping my finger on the pulse of the day's football news is always an objective on this blog!!

Here's Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in his LA Galaxy debut get up.

Very pleased with it, as was the customer. One of my Facebook page viewers said he thought it was the best I've done!

Cerci, Torino

Looking through the tags on this blog, I'd actually forgotten that I'd done 3 Torino figures already!

Anyway, here's the latest:

Slight difference with this one being that it was a Kodoto figure.

As with all the Torino figures, one of the most important jobs was mixing the correct colour for the shirt!

El Shaarawy, Roma

Apologies for the lack of posts in a while; I've finally got the internet in my new flat! Anyway, to business!

Here's my repaint of Roma's Stephan El Shaarawy.

I hadn't done any Roma figures for in while, but, like London buses, two requests came along at once! Keep your eyes on the blog for my Szczesny repaint!

This one was quite straightforward! As with my previous Roma figures, probably the hardest part was mixing the right colour for their very distinctive shirt!

I think I got it about the same as the last figures that this customer ordered from me!

If you've read my blog before, you'll know that I'm quite a fan of shirts without a sponsor!

Kane, Spurs... keeper?!

Bit of an unusual request, this one, but evidently one I was happy to do!

In a Europa League game against Asteras Tripolis, Hugo Lloris ended up getting sent off and Kane was the man who ended up going in goal.

He even had to wear Lloris' shirt, as you can see with his name and number 1 on the repaint! This must be the first one I've had to do with a different name to the player on the back!

He still has his own number 18 on the shorts of the outfield kit!

While in goal, Kane conceded one goal, but I'm sure Spurs fans won't mind, as he'd already scored a hat trick at the other end!

Christmas Present for Leeds?!

Can you imagine if Leeds did come up with a Christmas present like this for their fans?!

Of course, the transfer window system means he won't be signed in time for Christmas. 

We could do with him too, thanks to Sky and their ridiculous changes to our fixture schedule...

This was actually a present for a young Leeds fan, whose favourite player is Neymar!

For some reason, I couldn't find a picture of him in a Leeds kit...

By the way, in case you wondered, this figure isn't a regular prostar. I think it's a Kodoto, but I'm not certain. Anyone know?!

Bale, Spurs

As you may have noticed (or been told by me if you follow my facebook page) this Bale repaint was my first Kodoto figure.

Judging by this one, there are both pros and cons with Kodotos. Perhaps most importantly, the facial likeness is outstanding, imo.

On the other hand, I wasn't over keen on the moveable arms and head, and the base felt pretty thin and plasticy. It also said 'Kodoto' instead of the player's name.

I put the name on the base for my customer, and also had to do an all over skin repaint! Gareth looked a tad too orange to begin with!!

Without doubt tho, I prefer Kodotos to Fan Favourites. The size (very similar to Prostars) also gives them the edge over Soccerstarz in my eyes.
