Brrrrrr!

Ready for a tenuous link?!

I scrolled through my (alphabetical by team) unused repaint pics, and these were next to each other; the only ones of their respective teams unused.

So, I decided to chuck them in a blog post together, and Br... it's cold outside.

Anyway...

I was very pleased with this one! I've done McCall in Bradford colours before, but from the Premier League era. This kit was a bit harder to fit that sponsor on, but keep the stripes on the front without making them too small. But I feel I succeeded!

I've also done Sidwell in Brighton kit before, but not on a Soccerstarz figure. Again, happy with how this turned out. Stripes on soccerstarz aren't too bad, as long as you've got a very thin brush, in good condition!

Stuart McCall, Bradford: Great City!

Well, Bradford are playing tonight, so how about a Bradford repaint?!

stuart mccall bradford great city corinthian repaint

I hadn't done any Bradford players until a couple of months ago, and now I've done 5 or 6, including Stuart McCall in 2 different kits!

I had to do a bit of searching to find a suitable picture of the 'Great City' logo, to make the decal, but I found one in the end!

I was happy with how this turned out. It was an interesting one to research, as, unless I'm mistaken, the shirts all had their stripes in different places (eg some had a central amber stripe on the back, and some had a maroon one) and I know similar happened with Sheffield United shirts.

Anyway, I think (hope!) that I did actually find a pic of McCall to look at for this repaint. It was well received

A few more Bradford

After that first McCall repaint, I was discovered by Bradford fans on twitter, resulting in a fair few more!

I already did a blog post about  some of their Premier League players; here are a few from their time in the EFL.

Lee Sharpe custom bradford city corinthian

Lee Sharpe played on load for Bradford in their promotion season... I think. And I also think this is the kit from that spell!

The stripes are thinner on this one than their Premier League kit, and I was particularly pleased with how good the numbering on the back came out.

In case you wondered, for white numbers on striped kits, I usually print them on one colour. For this one, I chose the maroon-y colour, then painted the yellow as close as possible to the number. Hope that technical info is interesting to someone out there!

lee hendrie bradford city corinthian

Here's Hendrie; a player I didn't know played for Bradford, in a kit I didn't remember!

With both of these two, I prefer the later sculpts to be honest, and think they were better likenesses.

Speaking of likenesses, this one is a 'lookalike' figure. I was pleased with how he kit turned out- as you may know, I'm not a big fan of doing hoops! At least it was only the front on this one!

This figure also has these weird sort of sideburn things!! I filed them down, then painted a skin tone over the top.

It would have probably been easier if he'd picked the Danny Mills he was considering for this figure!!

Bradford, Premier League era

When I did my first Bradford City blog post, I said it wouldn't stay the only one for long. I've done Stuart McCall twice again since, and a few more Bradford players too, with a good chance of more on the way. of more on the way.

Here are a couple in Premier League kits:

Peter Beagrie custom bradford city corinthian figure

I've done Beagrie in Sheffield United kit previously, but was very pleased with how this one looks... even if he did score against Leeds in this kit!

We still won tho!

neville southall bradford city corinthian repaint

Big Nev made his only Bradford appearance in the same game. I think he was on the coaching staff, and they had an injury crisis! He was north of 40 by then, and could've been renamed Very Big Nev!!

This one could've been a contender for a stomach remodel!! Well, maybe an all over remodel, really. google "Southall Bradford", and you'll see what I mean!

As I recall, he didn't disgrace himself, by any means. The final score was 2-1, anyway.

And, for good measure, here's another McCall!

McCall, Bradford

Here's my first ever Bradford City repaint:

Stuart McCall custom corinthian bradford

Stuart McCall, complete with captain's armband!

I was happy with this one, and it's an interesting new kit I've not done before.

While this was the first Bradford one, the enthusiasm of the buyer makes me know it won't be the last!
